Meghan Markle Surprises Kids at LA Hospital Post-Netflix Fallout

On March 12, 2026, Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, made a surprise visit to Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. She spent time with young patients doing fun activities. This appearance comes soon after news that Netflix cut her contract because her projects, like a canceled lifestyle series, didn’t do well.

Markle went to the hospital’s Creative Oasis with patients and painted roses and colored in Hello Kitty pictures while they were there. As part of the hospital’s Make March Matter fundraising campaign, which helps pay for research and care that saves lives, she also visited children who were stuck in bed and made them happy. The hospital staff said that the moments were good reminders of how creativity can help people heal and connect.

Netflix recently changed Markle’s deal to a “first look” deal, which means she doesn’t have to commit to anything right away. This happened after her shows, like the lifestyle show With Love, Meghan, failed to do well with both critics and audiences. People who work for Archewell Productions say this shows that people are losing faith in her projects. Even though things didn’t go as planned, Markle focused on charity work and didn’t talk about the media deal in public.

This is at least the third time she has been connected to the hospital. In 2024, she read stories to patients and went to a gala. Fans praised her kindness online, with many comments focusing on how it affected kids. The visit fits with her history of doing hands-on charity work after leaving the royal family.
