Rap superstar Nicki Minaj caused a stir online when she said she supported Donald Trump during her surprise virtual appearance at Turning Point USA’s AmericaFest 2025 event in Phoenix. The Grammy-nominated singer praised the former president of the United States while talking about political freedom, media bias, and being unique in front of thousands of conservatives and millions of people watching online.
Minaj praised Trump for what she called his “unfiltered honesty” and willingness to go against the establishment, which made the crowd cheer. Her comments quickly spread across X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, and TikTok, with fans and critics arguing about her unexpected political views.
Nicki Minaj has made headlines before for saying what she thinks. In 2021, she caused a stir when she questioned vaccines, which also sparked debate on social media. However, her most recent comments show a big change in how celebrities talk about politics, especially since entertainers are becoming more outspoken about their personal beliefs.
Minaj hasn’t officially said which political party she supports, but her praise of Trump shows that conservative movements are becoming more popular with celebrities. As the U.S. heads into another heated election cycle, this moment is likely to start conversations about the relationship between pop culture, politics, and free speech.
