Actress Preity Zinta had the audience laughing during the premiere of Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 18. She recalled a hilarious behind-the-scenes memory from her 2003 film Armaan, where she shared screen space with Amitabh Bachchan.
The new season began on Monday with a star-studded premiere. Hosted by Amitabh Bachchan, the episode featured Aamir Khan, Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta. It also followed the season’s theme, “Sochna Padega.”
Preity Zinta Wanted to Work With Amitabh Bachchan
During the episode, a fan asked Preity about her fondest memory with the Bachchan family. She then opened up about how badly she wanted to work with Amitabh Bachchan.
At the time, Preity was eager to share the screen with the legendary actor. Therefore, when she signed Armaan, she reportedly made one condition to director Honey Irani.
Preity wanted at least one scene with Amitabh Bachchan. Her request, however, came with an unexpected twist.
Honey Irani Turned Her Request Into a Joke
Honey Irani apparently responded with a witty line. If Preity was “dying” to work with Amitabh Bachchan, she would have to literally “die” in the scene.
As it turned out, the joke became reality.
Preity’s character was placed in a coma sequence. So, she finally got her much-awaited scene with Amitabh Bachchan. However, the moment proved much harder than she expected.
Preity Couldn’t Stop Shaking During the Scene
While shooting the sequence, Preity had to remain completely still. After all, her character was unconscious.
But there was one problem. Amitabh Bachchan was right there beside her.
As a result, Preity became extremely nervous. She struggled to stop herself from shaking, even though the scene required her to stay motionless.
The crew soon noticed what was happening. They kept telling her that she was moving and affecting the take. However, the situation only made her more flustered.
“It’s So Difficult to Act Dead”
Looking back, Preity found the entire incident hilarious. She admitted on the KBC stage that acting dead was surprisingly difficult.
Moreover, the story showed just how starstruck she was by Amitabh Bachchan. Even though she was already a successful actress, sharing a scene with the Bollywood legend left her nervous.
The anecdote also offered a refreshing glimpse behind the glamour of filmmaking. Sometimes, even established stars can feel overwhelmed when meeting or working with someone they deeply admire.
