Suki Waterhouse is embracing the perks of celebrity parenthood without any shame.
In a recent interview with NYLON, the singer and actress was asked point-blank whether she’d encourage her two-year-old daughter with Robert Pattinson to pursue an entertainment career. Her response was refreshingly blunt: she’d be “nepo-babying the hell out of her,” she joked before catching herself and laughing at how candid she’d been.
“Why would I advise against it?” Waterhouse explained, acknowledging the obvious advantages her daughter would inherit simply by being born to two major entertainment figures.
The term “nepo baby” has become shorthand for celebrity children who benefit from their parents’ connections, fame and industry access. Rather than shy away from the label, Waterhouse seemed to embrace the reality that she’d be happy to leverage her Hollywood network on her daughter’s behalf if the time came.
Waterhouse and Pattinson welcomed their first child in March 2024, and the couple has been notably protective of their privacy since. They haven’t publicly revealed their daughter’s name, and both parents rarely discuss her life in detail.
That said, both have occasionally opened up about how parenthood has changed them. Pattinson recently told reporters at the Venice Film Festival that fatherhood has reshaped his daily life, giving him less interest in nightlife and more focus on his work.
The couple made a rare joint appearance at Venice earlier this month, where Waterhouse cheered as Pattinson’s film *Primetime* received a standing ovation.
Waterhouse’s humorous yet honest remarks highlight an ongoing cultural debate about celebrity children and the unequal playing field in entertainment. For now, her daughter is only two, so any Hollywood career remains years away. But one thing is clear: if she ever expresses interest in acting, music or other creative pursuits, her mother won’t be standing in her way.
Instead, she’ll apparently be opening doors.
