Actor Ujjwal Sharma has finally broken his silence on the emotional and professional impact of the controversy surrounding the death of his former Saajan Ghar co-star, Sanchita Ugale. In a candid conversation, the television actor revealed that the incident deeply affected his mental health and also cost him major career opportunities, including a lead role in the Star Plus show Sayoneee.
Moreover, Ujjwal Sharma Sayoneee became a widely discussed topic after the actor disclosed that public backlash linked to the controversy led to him losing the prestigious project. He described the entire experience as one of the darkest phases of his life.
A Personal Tragedy Turned Into Public Scrutiny
Ujjwal recalled the period as a nightmare.
He said he was devastated after learning about Sanchita Ugale’s death. The two had developed a close friendship while working together on Saajan Ghar.
However, the situation worsened when his name became associated with the incident.
Soon after, the actor began receiving abusive messages, online trolling, and even death threats.
As a result, he said he felt emotionally shattered. He also believes his public image was damaged overnight because people judged him without knowing the complete facts.
“People Judged Me Without Knowing the Truth”
According to Ujjwal, the controversy affected far more than his social media presence.
He said that, for an actor, reputation is everything. Unfortunately, he believes his image was destroyed based on assumptions rather than facts.
Therefore, he urged people to avoid rushing to conclusions before an investigation is completed.
He also stressed that misinformation and public judgment can permanently affect a person’s life and career.
His Bond With Sanchita Ugale
While working on Saajan Ghar, Ujjwal and Sanchita spent most of their time together as the lead pair.
Naturally, they became good friends.
During that time, Sanchita reportedly shared that she was struggling to cope with a difficult breakup.
In response, Ujjwal said he constantly encouraged her to stay positive and focus on her career.
According to him, he always wanted to motivate her through a challenging phase.
Her Health Began to Decline
As time passed, Ujjwal noticed that Sanchita’s health was deteriorating.
Eventually, she had to leave the show and was replaced.
Even after exiting the project, she messaged him asking about the actress who had taken over her role.
However, Ujjwal advised her to focus on recovering instead of worrying about work.
After that, they gradually lost touch because both became busy with their respective careers.
The ₹3,000 Food Bill Dispute
Months later, Ujjwal claims Sanchita unexpectedly sent him abusive messages over a ₹3,000 food bill.
Initially, he said he did not even remember the expense.
Nevertheless, once he understood the issue, he immediately transferred the money.
He also revealed that screenshots of their conversation are already in the public domain.
Furthermore, he submitted those messages to the police as part of his official statement.
An Earlier Apology Left Him Confused
Interestingly, Ujjwal said Sanchita had apologised to him before the argument.
According to him, she thanked him for always motivating her and admitted she regretted not following his advice.
Therefore, he found it difficult to understand why she later became hostile over the food bill.
Even today, he says the sudden change in her behaviour remains confusing.
He Fully Cooperated With Police
Meanwhile, Ujjwal maintained that he has cooperated with investigators from the very beginning.
The police questioned him about his friendship with Sanchita, her health, their conversations, and her personal struggles.
He said he answered every question honestly because he wanted to help the investigation uncover the truth.
Losing Sayoneee Was the Biggest Blow
Perhaps the biggest revelation was the impact the controversy had on his career.
Ujjwal disclosed that he had already signed a contract for the Star Plus show Sayoneee, produced by Ravi Dubey and Sargun Mehta.
However, he eventually lost the project because of the controversy.
He described the opportunity as a dream role.
After all, every television actor hopes to work with successful producers like Ravi Dubey and Sargun Mehta.
Consequently, losing the show became one of the biggest setbacks of his career.
He Also Lost Major Music Projects
Unfortunately, the setbacks did not end there.
Ujjwal revealed that he had also signed two major music projects.
However, both opportunities slipped away during the controversy.
He explained that he had spent nearly five years building his career.
Yet, within a short period, he lost everything he had worked so hard to achieve.
As a result, rebuilding his professional reputation has been extremely challenging.
His Family Also Suffered
The controversy affected not only Ujjwal but also his family.
He revealed that his parents received disturbing phone calls after his personal number was leaked online.
Meanwhile, he continued receiving abusive messages and death threats from strangers.
According to the actor, those months were emotionally exhausting for everyone close to him.
Looking Ahead With Hope
Despite everything, Ujjwal remains hopeful.
He believes the investigation will eventually reveal the complete truth.
Until then, he wants people to avoid judging anyone without knowing the facts.
For now, the actor is focusing on rebuilding his career and moving forward, while hoping justice will ultimately clear his name.
