Alex Cooper’s ‘Love Overboard’ Canceled by Hulu After One Season

Hulu has pulled the plug on Alex Cooper’s dating reality series ‘Love Overboard’ after just one season, shutting down the show less than six months after it premiered in March.

The series, which Cooper executive produced through her Unwell Productions company, marked her first major venture into unscripted television. But despite the high-profile backing from the *Call Her Daddy* podcast host, the show didn’t attract enough viewers to warrant a second season.

‘Love Overboard’ debuted on Hulu on March 26, 2026, with all nine episodes dropping at once. The dating competition, hosted by Bachelorette and Traitors star Gabby Windey, followed 22 single contestants aboard a luxury yacht as they competed for romance and access to the ship’s amenities.

The show mixed traditional dating-show drama with challenges and games, letting contestants build relationships, forge alliances, and spark rivalries along the way. By season’s end, couple Gia Aldisert and Tim Demirjian took home the top prize: a $100,000 trip around the world.

Still, the series failed to generate significant buzz or build an audience large enough to justify another season. Industry reports suggest Love Overboard couldn’t compete with Hulu’s more established reality franchises.

The cancellation marks a rough patch for Cooper’s expansion beyond podcasting. She’s become one of the biggest names in the podcast industry through Call Her Daddy, and Love Overboard was supposed to push her Unwell Productions brand further into television.

Cooper worked on the project alongside executive producers Matt Kaplan and Mina Lefevre, with Jeff Jenkins Productions and 3BMG also involved.

But the failed show doesn’t appear to signal the end of Cooper’s relationship with Disney. The company is reportedly continuing to develop other projects with the media personality and her production company, including an upcoming Hulu scripted drama called You Deserve To Know, starring Nina Dobrev and Paul Wesley.

For now, Love Overboard is still available to stream on Hulu but don’t expect the yacht to set sail again. The series currently sits at one season with nine episodes total, with no plans for renewal.
