With its popularity going much beyond the subcontinent, Indian film still enthrals viewers all around. This is especially clear at the US box office, where NTR Jr.‘s Devara: Part 1 ranks second, above big Hollywood productions such as Transformers: One and Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.
Though Transformers: One, a massively popular franchise, and Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, a beloved classic making a modern rebirth, both have fierce competition, Devara: Part 1 stands out. Audiences looking for new stories have been lured into the film with its gripping plot, grandeur, and star-studded ensemble.
Previous hits like Dangal, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, and RRR have helped Indian film to flourish on the international front; now, Devara: Part 1, with NTR Jr., Saif Ali Khan, and Janhvi Kapoor, is carrying on that history. Under the direction of Koratala Siva, this film has rapidly gained popularity worldwide and demonstrated that Indian films can be stand-alone versus Western blockbusters.
As Indian film continues to rule the worldwide box office and generates a buzz that shows no slowing down, this victory represents again another turning point for it.
