‘Furious’ Renewed for Season 2 at Hulu With Emmy Rossum Set to Return

Hulu is bringing back ‘Furious’ for a second season. The streamer announced the renewal just days before the Season 1 finale, which drops August 31.

Created by Elizabeth Meriwether the mind behind New Girl and The Dropout the crime thriller has quickly become one of Hulu’s standout new dramas. Emmy Rossum and Lola Petticrew lead the cast as FBI agent Alice Black and serial killer Catherine Grace, respectively.

The renewal comes on the back of solid viewership growth. The show’s seventh episode saw a 40 percent jump in first-day viewers compared to the premiere. Critics have also embraced the series, which launched with a perfect Rotten Tomatoes score and maintained a 98 percent rating.

That momentum gave Hulu plenty of reason to greenlight another season.

The first season wraps up with eight episodes. A premiere date for Season 2 hasn’t been announced yet, and details about the new season remain under wraps.

Still, the renewal signals that Hulu wants more of the psychological cat-and-mouse game between Rossum’s FBI agent and Petticrew’s mysterious killer. The story has room to deepen both characters’ motivations and pull in new players connected to the case.

For now, fans will have to wait until the Season 1 finale to see where the investigation leads before learning what Season 2 has in store.
