Julianne Moore to Receive Zurich Film Festival’s Golden Icon Award

Oscar-winning actress Julianne Moore will receive the Golden Icon Award at the 2026 Zurich Film Festival, which will celebrate her acclaimed career and lasting contribution to cinema.

Moore will attend the festival in Zurich alongside filmmaker and actor Jesse Eisenberg, whose latest movie features the acclaimed actress. The appearance adds another major achievement to an already notable year for Moore.

The Zurich Film Festival awards the prestigious Golden Icon to performers who have made a significant impact on international cinema. Previous recipients include Colin Farrell, Kate Winslet, Jessica Chastain, Ben Kingsley, Sharon Stone, Juliette Binoche, Cate Blanchett and Judi Dench.

The honor follows another major recognition for Moore. Earlier this year, the actress received the Women In Motion Award at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival, highlighting her influence both on and beyond the screen.

Moore has built one of the most respected acting careers of her generation. She earned four Academy Award nominations before winning the Best Actress Oscar for Still Alice in 2015.

Her acclaimed filmography includes Boogie Nights, The Hours, Far From Heaven, The End of the Affair, Children of Men, A Single Man, Crazy, Stupid, Love and May December.

Moore has also collected major honors from some of the entertainment industry’s most prestigious organizations. Along with her Academy Award, she has won a BAFTA Award, two Golden Globe Awards, two Screen Actors Guild Awards and the Cannes Best Actress prize.

Moore’s Zurich appearance will also reunite her with Eisenberg, who previously directed and starred in A Real Pain, which screened at the festival.

The 2026 Zurich Film Festival will run from September 24 through October 4, bringing filmmakers, actors and cinema fans together in Switzerland.

By presenting Moore with the Golden Icon Award, the festival will add her name to an impressive list of performers who have shaped modern cinema. The Zurich honor also follows her Cannes recognition earlier this year, making 2026 another significant chapter in Moore’s celebrated career.
