Set Designer’s Vision for ‘Phoenician Scheme’ Captivates Audiences at Tallinn Works in Progress

The “Phoenician Scheme,” a new project in the world of international film, got a lot of attention at the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival’s Works in Progress showcase this week. The upcoming movie is known for its beautiful visual world. However, what really sets it apart is its ambitious set design. This was done by a well-known production designer recognized for combining historical architecture with modern cinematic styles.

“Phoenician Scheme,” which was shown as part of Tallinn’s “Works in Progress” section, shows how creative new European and Middle Eastern filmmakers can be. The showcase is known for helping with international collaborations and film financing deals. It gave people their first look at the movie’s complex visual storytelling and unique narrative goals.

The set designer talked about making a world based on ancient Phoenician designs, combining intricate craftsmanship with hidden meanings. The production’s unique art direction fits in with the festival’s growing reputation for showcasing bold and visually stunning film projects.

As “Phoenician Scheme” gets closer to being finished, the producers are looking for partners around the world and festival premieres in 2026. The project promises to add to a new wave of creative filmmaking coming from cross-cultural European collaborations. This is achieved thanks to its intense design work and interesting storylines.
