By Arun Sajnani,

THE GLASS CASTLE – Based on the memoirs of gossip columnist Jeanette Walls – “THE GLASS CASTLE” – comes to life on screen in the movie format. It is simple story telling at its best. The film is a story of a dysfunctional family where the siblings have to fend for themselves. At an early age they are aware that they have to become independent with their own strength and knowledge.

Some parents have their kooky side, and they cannot provide the things a normal family may need. If poverty, and joblessness prevails, then what does a father do? He can inspire his children, dream of making “A Glass Castle” – home for them, or if you can’t, then you just get drunk.

Actor Woody Harrelson has given the best performance of his career in this film. It may be end of summer, but I do feel perhaps he deserves an Oscar nomination nod for him already. The rest of the cast, from Brie Larson to Naomi Watts have also given exemplary performances.

The film will touch your heart. One may resent their family upbringing, but one may become more wiser in respecting their family….no matter what the hardships may have been through. Yes it is the sleeper hit of the summer and it deserves 3 and half stars. So go and see it!!  Courtesy Awesome TV & BEING FILMY.
