THE MUMMY

THE MUMMY

By Arun Sajnani,

THE MUMMY – Tom Cruise goes “Oblivion”, once again, but this time he is resurrected in…”THE MUMMY”. This is suppose to kick off this year…the many summer blockbusters from Hollywood, but sadly this will keep the audience mummified.

The film has great special CGI effects though, with Egypt and Mesopotamia as the backdrop setting for this film. But it goes haywire’s with the hackneyed story. All the characters go all over the place with no rhyme or reason.

In this film “Mr. Mission Impossible Cruise’ tackles the unreal and impossible by being cursed and supposedly dead, yet is brought to life by an ancient old Mummy that was a Princess, who seeks revenge in London. Actor Russell Crowe assists but is evil?? Even I want to know why??? I am confused.

Put it this way when you mix history of “The Crusades” – “An Egyptian Princess” – “Archeology”, and you mix it with fiction, with lack of reality,.. you get hogwash. Also to see our hero getting thrown around like a raggedy doll by the menacing Mummy, who wants him to join her as “The God Of Death” sums up ridiculousness in today’s day and age. The film gets a 1 and a half star recommendation, and that is out of generosity. Courtesy Awesome TV & BEING FILMY.
