Elvira Star Cassandra Peterson Joins ‘R.L. Stine’s Pumpkinhead 2’ Sequel

Tubi has released a new trailer for R.L. Stine’s Pumpkinhead 2, and it’s bringing a legendary horror icon into the fold. The streaming platform announced that Cassandra Peterson, best known for her decades-long role as Elvira, Mistress of the Dark, will star in the upcoming sequel as a mysterious witch.

In the film, Peterson plays Cassandra, a supernatural character with deep ties to ancient magic. The trailer hints that her knowledge of the occult could be crucial as the town of Redhaven faces a terrifying new curse.

“It’s a witchy role I really wanted to play,” Peterson said of the part, according to Tubi’s official announcement.

The sequel, directed and written by Jem Garrard, picks up where the 2025 original left off. Teenagers Sam and Becka are forced to confront another Pumpkinhead curse one that threatens to consume the entire town. With Peterson’s character potentially holding the answers they need, the supernatural stakes have never been higher.

R.L. Stine’s Pumpkinhead 2 will premiere exclusively on Tubi on October 9, 2026, as part of the platform’s Terror on Tubi horror programming block. The streamer, which has over 50 original horror films in its library, continues to expand its R.L. Stine universe with this latest installment.
